Muletone
A muleton is a textile table cover with a rubberized backing, placed under a tablecloth. Thick muletons are cut to fit the size of the tabletop, while thinner ones are fitted with elastic bands to secure them on the table — similar to a fitted mattress protector.
Purpose of a muleton:- • to protect the tabletop from external influences — mechanical or thermal damage, and from spilled liquids;
- • to absorb noise;
- • to prevent the tablecloth from slipping on the table surface.
